The US Supreme Court canceled Trump’s tariffs – Mehr News Agency RCO News Agency
According to Mehr news agency, quoted by Al Jazeera, the Supreme Court of the United States canceled the tariffs imposed by the President of the United States, Donald Trump, based on the federal emergency law.
This decision seriously weakens one of the main pillars of Trump’s economic plan.
According to reports, this verdict was issued in this court with 6 votes in favor against 3 votes against, and the court declared that the president did not have the legal authority to impose such extensive tariffs. The tariffs were imposed under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, but the court said such a law does not authorize broad import taxes and requires congressional authorization.
