According to Mehr news agency, US President Donald Trump published a message on his social media called “Truth Social” and wrote: “It was an honor to meet with Indian Prime Minister Modi today.”
The American president wrote: He is one of my best friends. We talked about a lot of things, including trade and ending the Russia-Ukraine war. He agreed to stop buying Russian oil and buy more oil from the US and possibly Venezuela. This will help end the war in Ukraine! Out of friendship and respect for Prime Minister Modi, and at his request, effective immediately, we agreed to a trade agreement between the United States and India under which Washington will apply a reduced countervailing tariff, reducing it from 25% to 18%.
Donald Trump further added: They are also moving towards reducing their tariffs and non-tariff barriers against the United States to zero.
