Maduro signed the Venezuelan armed resistance preparation plan
Maduro announced the approval of the plan to prepare Venezuelans for armed resistance.
According to RCO News Agency, “Nicolas Maduro”, the President of Venezuela, in a speech at the Congress of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, stated: “This proposed plan has been approved, and the United Socialist Party of Venezuela must immediately start implementing it by preparing action plans specific to each street and each neighborhood, so that the people of our country can maintain the highest level of readiness by maintaining calmness and self-restraint, as well as with their determination and courage.”
The president of Venezuela, following the speech he gave amid the presence of US naval forces in the Caribbean Sea under the pretext of fighting drug trafficking, stated that in the document he received, “a set of ideas for the transition from unarmed struggle to armed struggle in order to protect the territorial integrity, dignity and right to peace and the future of the country” have been described. He said that this plan includes the preparation of people under the basic framework of universal national defense for a potential national and continental armed struggle in the event of an American attack.
Noting that “threats and psychological warfare of the US empire have continued for the past 12 weeks,” Maduro emphasized his request to strengthen his country’s defense capabilities to the level of “making Venezuela impregnable.”
Also, Diosdado Cabello, Secretary General of the ruling party and Minister of the Interior of Venezuela, said in a speech that he made while he was with the president, “the possibility of something serious happening in Venezuela is unlikely”, but at the same time, he asked the citizens to prepare for the worst case and “strengthen the Bolivarian revolution” in the midst of foreign pressure.
These speeches come after Washington has attacked and destroyed several boats near the coast of Venezuela in recent months in line with its military intervention in the Caribbean region under the pretext of countering drug smuggling boats. Also, according to some American media reports, Washington is “considering carrying out attacks on drug trafficking suspects inside Venezuela.”
White House spokeswoman Carolyn Levitt said that US President Donald Trump is “ready to use all elements of American power” to fight drug trafficking, including military operations in Venezuela.
He made this claim following the publication of reports that Washington has deployed more than 4,000 sailors and marines in the waters around the South American continent and the Caribbean Sea under the pretext of fighting drug trafficking cartels.
