United Nations: New satellite images show the destruction of 81% of Gaza
Nearly 81 percent of all structures in the Gaza Strip have been damaged, according to a new satellite assessment, the United Nations said, as humanitarian efforts continue amid widespread devastation from two years of Israeli attacks.
According to RCO News Agency, Farhan Haq, the spokesperson of the United Nations, citing the report of the Office of Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, said in a News conference: “The continuous increase in aid delivery has had a positive effect on the people in all areas of the Gaza Strip. But to be able to address all needs and leave no one behind, much more is needed.”
According to Anatolia news agency, he pointed out that the reconstruction work “is underway in four schools in Gaza”, and stated that in the last three days, the United Nations and the partners of this international organization have supported the reopening of five temporary educational spaces in Gaza City.
The UN spokesperson also quoted the analyzes of the UN Satellite Center and announced: “81 percent of all structures in the Gaza Strip have been destroyed.”
The UN official also noted that northern Gaza has experienced the largest increase in damage since July 2025, and nearly 5,700 new structures have been damaged.
He added: “More than 123,000 structures across the Gaza Strip have been identified as destroyed, 50,000 other structures are severely or moderately damaged, and 24,000 other structures are likely to be damaged.”
In two years of conflict in Gaza, more than 68,000 Palestinians were killed by the forces of the Zionist regime.
