According to the Mehr news agency, citing the information base of the Iraqi presidency, Iraqi President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid hosted Iraqi Interior Minister Abdul Amir Al-Shammari in Baghdad Palace.
In this meeting, the current measures to organize the parliamentary election process and ways to ensure its success in order to strengthen the democratic process in Iraq were reviewed.
The President of Iraq pointed out the importance of creating a safe and stable environment that would make elections possible and give citizens the right to vote freely and transparently.
He further emphasized the importance of the role of the Iraqi Ministry of Interior in protecting election centers and ensuring the security of the voting process by implementing a security plan in Baghdad and other provinces of this country in order to ensure safe and sound elections.
On the other hand, Al-Shammari pointed to the plan of his ministry to ensure the security of polling centers and protect the electoral process and emphasized the readiness of the security forces to perform their duties in order to ensure the holding of elections in a safe and orderly environment.
