American attacks on the “Caribbean” have no justification and are illegal – Mehr News agency RCO News Agency
According to Mehr news agency, citing Al-Mayadeen, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights called for an immediate, independent and transparent investigation into the US attacks on boats in the Caribbean, which have so far killed more than 60 people.
The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights emphasized in a statement: US airstrikes on boats in the Caribbean and Pacific violate international human rights law and have no legal justification.
Yesterday, the US military attacked another boat in the eastern Pacific, which it claims was smuggling drugs, killing four people.
The attack brought the death toll from Washington’s purported anti-drug campaign in the Caribbean to at least 62, according to US Secretary of War Pete Hegst.
These attacks began in early September, and according to experts, even if their target is known smugglers, it is equivalent to extrajudicial killings, and Washington has not yet provided any evidence to prove its claim about these boats; Boats that Venezuela has called fishing. Last night’s deadly attack came two days after multiple attacks on four boats in the eastern Pacific Ocean that left 14 dead.
