The content of the security meetings of the US envoy with Joseph Aoun and Nabih Beri – Mehr News agency RCO News Agency
According to Mehr news agency, citing Al Ahed, the US envoy to Lebanon, Morgan Ortagus, met with the country’s president, Joseph Aoun, and discussed issues related to the Lebanese army’s plan known as “weapons monopoly”.
During this meeting, Ortagus deliberately refused to accept the presence of reporters’ cameras and pretended that the role of the American envoy in Lebanon was limited to military and security issues and that political issues were out of his agenda until the arrival of the new American ambassador in Beirut.
Ortagus also discussed the developments in southern Lebanon in a meeting with Nabih Berri, Speaker of the Lebanese House of Representatives.
Ahed announced that Ortagus proposed two options to Barry in this meeting, one of which is related to direct negotiations with the Zionist regime, and the second one is related to indirect negotiations..
Nabieh Bari’s answer to these words was that the follow-up committee is responsible for the implementation of the ceasefire decision and Fimabin agreements. He emphasized that Lebanon is playing its role and is committed to this decision. What needs to happen is to force the Zionist enemy to agree.
At the same time, the sources of Ain al-Tineh described this meeting well and said that contrary to the threats made before this meeting in some local media and satellite networks of the region, a constructive meeting was held between the two sides.
