Al-Sudani: Iran is an important and effective country – Mehr news agency RCO News Agency

According to RCO News Agency, quoted by Waa Iraqi News Agency, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Shia al-Sudani said on Tuesday that without a fair solution to the Palestinian issue, the region will remain unstable and incidents will repeat.

Regarding the US President Donald Trump’s plan regarding Gaza, he said that he supports this plan.

Stating that Iran is an important and effective country, Al-Sudani emphasized that it should be interacted with with respect and through direct dialogue.

The Iraqi Prime Minister stated that Iraq’s relations with America should be based on partnership and not unilateral decisions.

Pointing out that ISIS is no longer a big threat in Iraq, he said that according to the assessments of the Ministry of Defense, 400 to 500 ISIS are present on the borders of Syria and northeastern Iraq.

Al-Sudani emphasized that a small military unit of American military advisers will remain at the Ain al-Assad base to monitor the Syrian borders.

He said that Iraq has started security cooperation with the new Syrian authorities in the fields of fighting terrorism and drugs.
