Khartoum airport was targeted by a drone attack – Mehr News agency RCO News Agency
According to the Mehr news agency, a Sudanese military source told Al Jazeera: explosions were heard at the same time as drones flew over Khartoum.
This source said: drones of the rapid support forces targeted Khartoum airport this morning.
The mentioned source emphasized: the attacks of the rapid support forces’ drones will never affect the flights of Khartoum International Airport.
This source also reported the fierce clashes between the Sudanese army to the commander of General Al-Barhan and the rapid support forces in the city of al-Fasher.
It should be mentioned that the armed conflicts in Sudan started on April 15, 2023 (April 26, 1402) between the army under the command of “Abd al-Fattah al-Barhan” and the rapid support forces under the command of “Mohammed Hamdan Daghlo” nicknamed “Hamidati” over power, and international mediations to end it and bring the conflicting parties to the negotiating table have not been fruitful so far.
According to the statistics of the United Nations, the war between the two major military forces of Sudan has led to the displacement of eight million people in the shadow of continued violence and hunger.
About 25 million people, nearly half of Sudan’s population, are in a dire situation due to the continuation of the war and need urgent aid, and 18 million people are at risk of famine.
A ceasefire has been announced several times in Sudan through international mediation, but the conflicting parties have continuously violated it.
