North Korea launches ballistic missiles on the eve of Trump’s visit – Mehr News Agency | RCO News Agency
According to the Mehr News Agency, citing Russia Elium, the South Korean Army’s Joint Chiefs of Staff announced this Wednesday that North Korea has fired short-range ballistic missiles.
South Korean military officials are investigating the type and range of these missiles, and it is possible that the said missiles are the type of North Korea’s new ballistic missiles that were fired on September 18 last year.
These missiles are an upgraded version of the KN-23 with a 5-ton warhead and are known as the domestic version of Russia’s Iskander missile.
The last case of firing such missiles from North Korea was on May 8. This action of North Korea takes place on the eve of the visit of US President Donald Trump and the President of China to South Korea to participate in the economic cooperation meeting of the countries of the Asia and Pacific region next week.
