According to RCO News Agency, quoted by Al Jazeera, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that he met Hassan Mahmoud Rashad, the head of the Egyptian Intelligence Organization, on Tuesday.
Netanyahu announced the purpose of the meeting, which took place in Tel Aviv, “to advance the US President Donald Trump’s plan for Gaza and to strengthen peace and bilateral relations.”
The media reported that the head of Egypt’s intelligence agency visited Israel with Benjamin Netanyahu and other senior Israeli officials, including David Zini, director of Israel’s internal intelligence agency (Shabak).
The second phase of the Gaza agreement and the plan presented by the Trump administration have been discussed.
Egyptian media announced that Rashad will also meet with Steve Wittkoff, Trump’s special representative for the Middle East.
This meeting was held while Israeli journalist Barak Ravid announced that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appointed Israeli-American businessman Michael Eisenberg as his personal representative in the Gaza Strip ceasefire monitoring committee.
