Britain is ready to send troops to Ukraine – Mehr News agency RCO News Agency
According to Mehr news agency, quoted by Russia Elium channel, British Defense Minister John Haley announced that London is ready to send military forces to the country if a peace agreement is reached in Ukraine.
Haley did not mention the number of deployed troops or other details of this action.
“Tony RadakinOn August 29, the British Chief of Defense Staff announced his readiness to send troops to Ukraine to defend the skies and ports of Ukraine, which, of course, does not include the front line with Russia.
Before that, British Prime Minister Kerr Starmer said on February 29 of last year that this country is ready to send troops to this country as part of the security guarantees requested by Kiev and in line with the resolution of the war in Ukraine.
He wrote in an article in the Daily Telegraph: England is ready to play a leading role in accelerating the process of providing security guarantees for Ukraine. This role-playing includes support for the Ukrainian military, which has previously pledged to provide $3 billion in annual aid until at least 2030.
Starmer added: But this role also means that England is ready and willing to deploy forces on the soil of this country if necessary to help speed up security guarantees for Ukraine.
Earlier, the administration of Donald Trump, the President of the United States of America, announced that due to Washington’s priorities regarding border security as well as dealing with China, the responsibility of providing security for Ukraine and the European region rests with the European Union. Although Britain finally separated from this bloc in 2020 after the 2016 referendum, it has always been one of the supporters and allies of this country since the start of the Ukraine war in February 2022 and has provided it with weapons.
