The security incident after the assassination of Al-Mashhadani; Shooting at the electoral headquarters in Iraq – Mehr News agency RCO News Agency
According to Mehr news agency, citing al-Sumaria, Iraqi sources announced that two people were wounded when unknown gunmen shot at the headquarters of one of the candidates for the parliamentary elections in the south of Baghdad.
This Iraqi media reported: This incident took place at the same time as the time of the elections was approaching and amid growing concern about the integrity and transparency of the elections. Similar events have been reported in other regions of Iraq.
This incident took place a few days after the assassination of Safa al-Mashhadani, one of the prominent candidates for the Iraqi parliamentary elections, in the Tarmiya district of Baghdad.
Iraqi elections will be held on November 11, 2025 to elect 329 members of the country’s parliament. Members of Parliament then elect the Prime Minister and the President.
