Al-Aradeh stated: It is a hard feeling to leave our brothers in captivity; including commanders and patients, especially Yaqub Qadiri who needs treatment.
He continued: We had great hope that Marwan Barghouthi and other leaders like Ahmad Saadat would be released, because this issue could be a great turning point in the path of resistance.
Al-Aradeh emphasized: The people of Gaza sacrificed their lives for our freedom, so we will be happy for them to see the results of their sacrifice.
He said about the harsh conditions in the prisons: We heard about torture, beatings and tying hands and feet, and the prison guards even proudly talked about tearing the Koran in front of the prisoners.
Al-Aradeh revealed: The director of the prison did not have the right to disagree with the guards and only said that you should do whatever you want, but not in front of the cameras.
He also said: Itamar Benguir, the Minister of Internal Security of Israel, came to the Negev Prison to see how the prisoners were treated and personally supervised the torture operation.
In the end, Al-Aradeh noted: The prisoners’ movement is the source of the growth of leaders, and the history of struggle in prisons is long and full of honor. I left Mejdo prison only one day and I was surprised to see the high morale of the prisoners.
Mohammad Qasim al-Ardeh was born on September 3, 1982 in Araba region, south of Jenin, located in the north of the West Bank, and he completed his primary, elementary and secondary education in this city.
Al-Ardeh on May 16, 2002, while the Zionist occupying forces surrounded him in a building located in Ramallah city, on the charge of being a member of Saraya-affiliated battalions. Al-Quds (Military branch of the Islamic Jihad Movement) and participating in the operations of these battalions against the Zionist regime, he was sentenced to life imprisonment three times and 20 years of separate imprisonment.
This freed Palestinian prisoner spent his sentence in Shata prison of the Zionist regime near the city of Bisan in the center of the West Bank. At that time, he had dug a tunnel to escape from prison, but the Zionists found out and took him to solitary confinement, where he remained until 2014.
But al-Ardeh’s efforts did not stop, and on September 6, 2021, equivalent to 15 Shahrivar 1400, his name was recorded among five other Palestinian prisoners in Jalboa prison who made the great operation of the Freedom Tunnel and managed to escape from the most secure prison of the Zionist regime. On the 11th of this month, the Zionist occupation regime arrested Mohammad Al-Ardeh again and transferred him to solitary confinement, and all kinds of tortures were imposed on him. The court of the Zionist regime issued a new sentence for him and sentenced him to another 5 years in prison.
In addition to the heroic operations against the Zionist regime, al-Aradeh has several books, among the most prominent of which we can point to “Jurisprudence of Jihad”, “The Influence of Sheikh Ghazali on the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement” and the novel “Journeys”. Finally, this heroic Palestinian fighter was released yesterday, January 25, 2025, during the prisoner exchange deal with the Zionist regime.
