Hacking 4 speaker systems in Canadian and American airports; Hamas was praised – Mehr News Agency RCO News Agency
According to Mehr news agency, citing Reuters news agency, hackers recently took over the public address systems of 4 airports, 3 airports in Canada and one in the United States to broadcast messages praising the Palestinian resistance movement (Hamas) and criticizing US President Donald Trump.
According to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in Kelowna, an “advertising service” at Kelowna International Airport in British Columbia briefly broadcast the content.
Canadian police said they were investigating the hack with other agencies and declined to provide further details.
Hackers broadcast messages in a foreign language and music over the PA system at Victoria International Airport in British Columbia, according to an airport spokesperson.
US Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said in a social media post that hackers similarly took control of the PA system at Harrisburg International Airport in Pennsylvania.
He said the US Federal Aviation Administration and airport officials are investigating the security issue.
According to airport officials, the hackers also accessed flight information screens and the public information system at the international airport Windsor In Ontario, they infiltrated and displayed “images and notices.”
