Russian President Donald Trump would be a historic event if his US counterpart Donald Trump succeeds in implementing his project on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, according to the Mehr News Agency.

“We support US initiatives in the Middle East and the most important issue is the establishment of a Palestinian state,” Vladimir Putin said at a news conference after the trip to Tajikistan.

“Trump is working on peace issues, and we are seeing it in the Middle East,” Putin said.

He emphasized: Given the level of trust between Russia and Palestine, our participation in the Gaza peace process may be necessary and welcomed. Russia has suggestions for resolving the situation in Gaza.

The Russian president also pointed out that the summit of the country and the Arab countries was delayed by his proposal, saying: “I do not want to disrupt the process of resolving the situation in the Middle East.”
