German Chancellor Friedrich Mortex emphasized the need for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the return of Israeli captives, according to Mehr News Agency.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merts emphasized that urgent action to return captives from Gaza, including German citizens, is necessary.

He also said that the ceasefire should be implemented and stabilized as soon as possible and that humanitarian aid quickly reach the residents of the Gaza Strip.

The German Chancellor went on to say that his country is ready to take charge of the US President’s proposed “Peace Council” to facilitate the process of peace and peace in the region.
