The sources added that Trump had ordered his special envoy to negotiate with Venezuelan officials to stop all diplomatic calls.

According to the New York Times, the Trump administration has developed several military plans for possible scenarios against Venezuela.

A White House official also said in an interview with the newspaper that Trump is ready to use “all US capacity” to prevent drugs from entering the United States.
