London’s mysterious position on recognizing Palestinian Independent State – Mehr News Agency | Iranian and world news
British Deputy Prime Minister David Lami, referring to the country’s decision to recognize the independent Palestinian state, claimed that the decision could not “overnight” and that recognition should be part of a wider peace process, according to Mehr News Agency.
“Any action to recognize (Palestine) is because we want to keep the prospects of the two -state solution alive,” said Lami, who will decide on the recognition of the Palestinian state late today (Sunday).
Starmer said in July that London would recognize the Palestinian state unless Israel reached a ceasefire agreement with Hamas, allowing Gaza more aid, clearly declared that the west coast would not be incorporated and will lead to a two–government-run peace process.
Noting that the Zionist regime has also continued to settle the settlement plan, Lami added: The fact is that since the Starmer statement (Starmer’s statements) in July, due to the attack on Qatar, the ceasefire does not seem likely and the landscapes are dark.
