The British Prime Minister Kir Starmer will issue a statement Sunday, in which he declares his determination to recognize the (independent) Palestinian state, according to the Mehr News Agency.

The telegraph added: “In order to calm the criticism of his decision to recognize Palestine, new sanctions will impose new sanctions on Hamas.”

Earlier, Portugal announced that it would recognize the independent Palestinian state on Sunday.

French President Emmanuel Macron also announced Friday night that his country will recognize the Independent Palestinian state at the United Nations Monday this week.

He emphasized: I again announced to Mahmoud Abbas that France will recognize the Palestinian government on Monday in New York.

In addition to France, five other countries will recognize the Palestinian government during the New York conference on Monday, AFP reported.
