The Hamas Islamic Resistance Movement said in a statement that the US government’s use of veto to prevent the UN Security Council’s resolution on Gaza reflects Washington’s obvious and complete complicity with Israel in the Palestinian people’s genocide. The move is also a green light to continue killing, hunger and criminal and brutal attacks on Gaza.

Hamas added: “We appreciate the five countries that submit the draft resolution to the Security Council and urge them and all countries and international institutions to continue pressure on Netanyahu’s cabinet, a war criminal to stop the rape and prevent its genocide in Palestine.”

An hour ago, in support of the Zionist regime, the US government vetoed the draft UN Security Council resolution to stop the Gaza war.

Elected (non -permanent) members of the Security Council demanded the adoption of a draft resolution that emphasized a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and relief to the people of the area.

The United States vetoed a draft of the UN Security Council resolution last June, calling for a “urgent, unconditional and permanent ceasefire” between Israel and Hamas in Gaza and unnecessary access to humanitarian aid to the area.

The United States has vetoed all resolutions at the Security Council to establish a ceasefire in Gaza, in addition to its comprehensive material and weapons support for the Zionist regime.
