The Colombian Ministry of Commerce said in a statement: “Coal exports to Israel have been banned because of the continuation of war action against the Palestinian people.”

The statement said that the ban was implemented on a new decree saying that coal exports “help the war machine”.

Also, Colombia emphasized that the decision was supported by international treaties that the government is a member.

“Colombia cannot be indifferent to the Palestinian people’s suffering,” said Diana Marcela Morales Ruhs. This is a clear action to stop the exacerbation of the war and the decisive share of our country in world peace.
