The Colombian Defense Ministry announced the release of dozens of troops a few days after their kidnapping, according to Mehr News Agency.

Colombian Defense Secretary Pedro Sanchez announced that more than five troops were kidnapped by gunmen in the Adangal area in the southeast of the country.

The Colombian defense minister added that the soldiers were abducted shortly before the area was evacuated.

The soldiers were abducted on August 7 after a clash in a rural area in El Returo, which killed four militias, including the commander of a group separated from the Fark.
