Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid took a stand on Gaza and PKK in an interview with Iraq, according to Mehr News Agency.
The Iraqi president said abandoning its weapons by agreeing with the Turkish government is an important step towards strengthening peace, security and stability and resolving disputes, especially in Iraq, including attacks and the creation of Turkish bases on the Iraqi border.
Abdul Latif Rashid also said about Gaza: The continuation of the attacks on Gaza has a negative impact on the entire region and the position of Iraq is clear and not new, and that standing with the Palestinian people to achieve its legitimate rights is completely determining its destiny, attacks and hunger should be stopped and humanitarian aid should be sent to Gaza.
He also said: Baghdad and Erbil’s relationships are good in all areas and there are differences, but the commonalities are more than the differences.
The Iraqi president said there is a lot of need for the adoption of the Oil and Gas Act, and unfortunately the parliament has failed to pass the important oil and gas law.
He added: “The world, including Iraq, is facing a widespread water crisis following climate change, Iraq must earn a fair share of neighboring countries and stop water loss in the country and use modern irrigation and agriculture methods.”
The Iraqi president emphasized the need for transparent parliamentary elections and denying the postponement of the election, saying: “We are proud to have all the electoral processes have been carried out without any delay.” We must guarantee our people’s confidence in holding fair elections and on time.
