Prime Minister Slovakia’s reaction to senior EU officials’ criticism
In response to the criticism of the EU foreign policy chief, the Prime Minister said the official had no authority to criticize the independent prime minister.
EU foreign policy chief Kaya Calas has earlier criticized the presence of Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fitsu at the Russian “Day of Victory” parade.
“Dear Kaya, I have once again paid attention to your remarks about my visit to Moscow and a meeting with the Russian President Vladimir Putin,” said Rasha Todi, the Prime Minister of Slovakia. “You claim that I’m not apparently on the right side of history, or you make a similar deep geopolitical statements.”
“First, at 9am, I was present in Moscow to pay tribute to more than 6,000 Red Army soldiers who died during the liberation of Slovakia,” he said. What do these brave people have to do with the current international situation? “Secondly, you have absolutely no authority to criticize the independent prime minister of a country that constructively deal with all European issues.”
Robert Fitsu went on to point out the third case with the new “iron curtain” policy that the EU’s foreign policy is heavily working on.
“Fourth, I ask you; If politicians are not going to meet and have a normal dialogue on issues that have different views, and do not have a normal dialogue? “
Kaya Calas earlier, referring to the Slovak Prime Minister’s visit to Moscow, claimed: “How can anyone stand by the person who waged this war and killed and suffered so many innocent people? You stand on the wrong side of history. “
