London: We are negotiating with France to recognize Palestine
The British Foreign Minister announced his country’s talks with France and Saudi Arabia about the recognition of the Palestinian state at the June International Conference.
According to RCO News Agency, British Foreign Minister David Lami announced Wednesday in a statement to the Special Committee on International Affairs in the House of Representatives, talks with France and Saudi Arabia to recognize the Palestinian state at an international conference on government -government solution in June.
Pointing out that the recognition of the Palestinian state by some European countries in the past had no effect, Lami said: “Britain tends to be a symbolic moment but when it has an impact.”
According to the Guardian, the British Foreign Minister, pointing out that about nine countries have so far recognized Palestine and the last of them were Spain, Norway and Ireland, saying: “No one has the right to recognize when Britain recognizes Palestine, and we have always said that we were not recognized.”
He added: “French President Emmanuel Macron has a lot to say along with the Saudis, and of course we are negotiating with them.”
Lemi went on to say that in his talks with Qatar last week, he stressed that “any long -term solution requires that the Hamas movement will not be present in Gaza’s rule and that its leaders should go to the third country.”
“There must be a complete disarmament process as what happened after an agreement on Northern Ireland in Britain,” the British Foreign Minister added.
“It is not acceptable for any group of people to live more than my life,” he said.
Noting that the level of violence by Zionist settlements was “shocking”, Lami emphasized: The increasing speed of settlements is weakening the government’s solution.
This is the first time Britain has officially spoken of its talks with France about the issue of recognizing the Palestinian state.
France, after returning from Khu’s trip to Egypt on April 7, said France may recognize Palestine during the June – -June Conference.
Then this will be the first to recognize the Palestinian state by a member of the Group Seven.
The Macron’s remarks followed the strong opposition from Zionist officials.
