US requests from Syria to lift sanctions
At the same time as the Syrian Foreign Minister’s request to lift sanctions, the United States publicly expressed actions that Syria would take before changing Washington’s position on Washington.
Last month, the United States submitted a list of conditions that Syria wants to comply with sanctions, and Dorothy Camili Shi, headed by the United Nations, publicized them on Friday.
“The United States calls on the Syrian authorities to completely abandon and suppress terrorism,” Reuters said. “Syria should also adopt the policy of non -violation of neighboring countries and deprive foreign terrorists of any formal role in the country.”
Dorothy Camili Shi, claiming to Iran, claimed: “Syria should also prevent Iran and its assistants from the Syrian territory and destroy the weapons of mass destruction while at the same time help recovering the disappearance of US citizens in Syria and the release of all Syrian citizens.”
“The United States will continue to monitor the actions of interim authorities and determine our actions based on a behavioral pattern,” he said. “The main leadership must also move beyond its past.”
Syrian Foreign Minister Asad al -Shaibani spoke for the first time in the Security Council, seeking to show that Syria was addressing some of the demands listed by the United States and also called for the lifting of sanctions.
“Those who have more demands from Syria are those who insist on maintaining many of the sanctions imposed on the country,” he said. “These sanctions force Syria to play the role of a aid country rather than a partner of global economic growth.”
The Syrian Foreign Minister claimed: “Syria is fighting ISIS, does a constructive work with the United Nations Chemical Weapons Organization, united military factions and maintained government agencies, and has taken steps to reform the constitution. In addition, Syria has begun a national dialogue. “
