US President Donald Trump said after meeting with Benjamin Netanyahu, who has traveled to the White House, saying: “We are conducting direct talks with Iran.”
“It is a great honor to accept you at the White House,” he told Netanyahu.
“Direct talks with Iran will begin and will continue until Saturday,” he said.
“Reaching an agreement with Iran is our preferred option, and we hope that these talks will be successful so that Iran will not reach nuclear weapons,” Trump said.
The US president added: “The success of these talks will be for Iran’s benefit.”
“We want Israel to play a role in any agreement on Iran, but at the same time we are trying to prevent the conflict,” Trump said.
