Pope Francis is discharged from the hospital
The Vatican said Pope Francis will be discharged from the hospital after five weeks and returned to his residence.
Pope Francis is scheduled to return to his Vatican’s residence today (Sunday) because his doctors have recognized that the best place to recover after five weeks of hospitalization will be due to pneumonia.
Sergio Alfiri, a doctor, said on Saturday that the 5 -year -old Catholic church leader was very happy to hear that his health has improved enough, as he could now leave the GEMelli Hospital in Rome.
But he warned that since the Pope had taken part of one of his lungs as a young man, he still faces a “at least six months” recovery period.
Pope Francis is due to be discharged from the hospital this afternoon.
The Vatican also announced that he was going to pray for the benefactors shortly before returning outside the hospital, and this would be his first public appearance from February 7.
His growing health status has speculated that Francis can withdraw and has paved the way for succession, as his previous person, Benedict Sixteenth, has aroused.
