The Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement Sunday that the “Maritime Security Belt” exercise will begin with Russia, Iran and China in the northern Indian Ocean.
A statement issued by the Russian Defense Ministry added: The purpose of the Russian, Iran and China exercise in the northern Indian Ocean is to secure and transport maritime.
Iran, China and Russia’s composite seafarers will be held in the northern Indian Ocean with the participation of ships and vessels and support of the Chinese and Russian Navy, as well as the Navy and Army Navy vessels.
The purpose of this exercise is to consolidate security and its foundations in the region and expand multilateral cooperation between participating countries and to show their goodwill and ability to jointly support world peace, maritime security and create a maritime community with a common future.
Other goals of the exercise include strengthening international maritime trade, countering piracy and maritime terrorism, humanitarian measures, exchange of information in the field of maritime rescue, and exchanging operational and tactical experiences.
Late last year, the compound maritime security exercise of Iran, China and Russia was held in the area.
