Lavrov: More reasonable voices about Ukraine are heard by the United States
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Friday that the United States’s lack of participation in the UN General Assembly’s anti -Russian resolution shows the pragmatism of US President Donald Trump’s policy.
The United States has not supported the draft anti -Russian resolution at the United Nations General Assembly on Ukraine for the first time since the recent talks in Riyadh, according to ISNA.
Lavrov said: “This reflects pragmatism as the essence of Donald Trump’s government policy.” In a meeting with leaders in a number of countries, including meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he emphasized in contact with other global representatives that his main motto is logic.
The Russian foreign minister added: “The United States is heard more reasonable voices about Ukraine.”
He also said that the government of Ukrainian President Walodimir Zelnski has attracted millions of dollars that could be used for international humanitarian needs.
Lavrov told reporters: “This is the obvious characteristic of the Zeansky regime that is well -absorbed and has attracted hundreds of billions of dollars in military aid, which could be spent on vital development aid programs around the world, especially in Africa.”
The Russian Foreign Minister also said that all the participants in the Group of Ministers welcomed the Russian -US negotiations in Riyadh.
“Everyone welcomed our summit (Russia and the US), everyone knows that this is not the end of Russia and the West, but everyone admits that the start of talks themselves is back to normal, and everyone welcomes it,” Lavrov said. EU and NATO leaders, of course, considered the fact that the representatives of the two great powers were at the negotiating table and drawing on their positions, called “betrayal of Western interests” and called such a “unhealthy” behavior.
