Cancellation of agency inspectors at Zaporgia Power Plant due to intense military activity
The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency announced that the displacement of inspectors stationed at the Zaprojia nuclear power plant, scheduled to take place on Wednesday, was canceled due to “intense military activity”.
According to RCO News Agency, the IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi issued a statement announcing the abolition of nuclear inspectors based at the Zaprojia Power Plant in Ukraine due to intense military activity in the area.
“Despite the written guarantees received from all two Russian and Ukrainian sides that the planned place could be done well, the situation was very dangerous for the teams to continue, and the mission was halted,” Grossi said in a statement.
“I am deeply sorry that the program, which was accurately prepared and agreed, has been canceled,” he said. Our staff are in a very challenging situation to help prevent a nuclear accident during the military clash and do vital work. It is quite unacceptable that the security of our employees will be compromised in this way.
Grossi also noted that the International Atomic Energy Agency is consulting with both Moscow and Kiev to ensure its inspectors’ safety at the Zaprogia nuclear power plant.
“As a result of these very worrying events, I am actively consulting with all two parties to ensure the safety of our teams and ensure the continued presence of the Zaporgia nuclear power plant so that our employees can continue their essential mission and maintain safety and security. Help a nuclear.
