TheAccording to RCO News Agency, quoted by Al Jazeera, 10 non-permanent member states of the UN Security Council demanded an immediate stop to any attack on the UN Interim Forces in Lebanon (UNIFIL).
This request was made after the Israeli army opened fire on UNIFIL forces on Friday and faced widespread international criticism.
In a statement released on Saturday morning, these countries expressed their “deep concern” about these attacks and stated that any deliberate attack on these forces is a serious violation of Resolution 1701 and international humanitarian law. The statement came just hours after UNIFIL announced that two of its soldiers had been wounded, one of them seriously, in two explosions near an observation tower at UNIFIL’s headquarters in southern Lebanon.
The UNIFIL forces also announced that in another incident near the water line in Lebouneh area, a Zionist bulldozer hit one of the UNIFIL sites and caused part of the walls to collapse; The tanks of the Zionist regime have also been deployed around this place.
