Air travel, which has undergone tremendous changes over the past 120 years, is on the verge of another transformation. Giants of the aviation industry such as “Airbus” and “Boeing” have displayed an exciting and sometimes strange image of future flights with bold patents; From fully transparent cockpits and virtual reality headsets for every passenger to meeting rooms suspended in the sky and new seating arrangements that may change our experience of flying forever. One of the most impressive new inventions in aviation is the Airbus Virtual Cockpit. In this design, the cabin has a panoramic glass facade and transparent OLED displays that can display live images or 3D reconstructions of the outside environment. This technology has made its way to the passenger cabin and Airbus has designed an interactive system for first class that displays flight information holographically on the window.

In the seat design section, different ideas have been proposed. “British Airways” provides more space for business passengers with a herringbone layout. Boeing also offers more legroom with angled, swivel-folding seats; But perhaps the strangest idea is Boeing’s vertical sleeping system; A type of seat that allows passengers to lean forward to sleep and place their head and hands in special positions.

For economy class passengers, Airbus has introduced the idea of virtual reality (VR) headsets instead of traditional screens. These headsets are used not only for movies and music, but also for creating privacy and even air conditioning.
For business class, Safran Seats has designed a modular meeting room that provides a space for business discussions during the flight and is assembled during takeoff and landing. Meanwhile, German company Sell GmbH aims to automate service and reduce passenger waiting time with its Monorail food cart. Based on electronic orders, this robotic trolley moves quickly down the aisle of the plane.

Not all new ideas in aviation are focused on increasing comfort. The company “Zodiac Seats France” (Zodiac Seats France) has proposed a design of zigzag seats in which passengers sit facing each other to increase the cabin capacity. More controversially, Boeing has designed a shared restroom that includes a shared washroom and three separate cubicles to cut down on passenger lines; An idea that may not be very pleasant during air turbulence.
