A song of soil and art; Accommodations that respect the local heritage

On the beaches of Puerto Escondido in Mexico, a new and unique boutique hotel called Casona Sforza has risen from the sand. This 11-suite hotel, which only accepts adults, is not only a luxury accommodation destination, but also a powerful social project that dedicates all its income to supporting local artisans. The Casona Sforza project was originally supposed to be a personal beach house for Argentinian entrepreneur Ezequiel Ayarza Sforza; But he soon realized that this place was too special for personal use. Sforza says:

This is a very special place. I realized that it should be shared with others.

The design of Casona Sforza Hotel was entrusted to Mexican architecture. Inspired by Roman aqueducts, he designed 9 large brick arches that have become the main symbol of the hotel. These magnificent arches house the main spaces of the hotel such as the lounge, cafe and restaurant and instill a sense of peace and harmony with nature. Domed ceilings help the positive energy to flow better, and the vibrations create a sense of peace as they bounce back.

The landmark of Casona Sforza is its deep connection with the foundation established many years ago by Sforza himself to preserve the artistic traditions of the natives of the region. All revenue from the Casona Sforza hotel goes to the foundation, which the hotel’s managers describe as “a tool for preserving the land, community and indigenous crafts.”

Commitment to social responsibility can be seen in every detail of the hotel. The interior design relies entirely on local furniture, textiles and ceramics. The carpets, curtains and chairs are handmade by Mexican villagers, and even the soaps in the rooms are made with honey produced by the foundation’s beekeepers.

Casona Sforza is more than a hotel; It is a sustainable cycle of mutual support in which tourism has become a tool to empower local communities and preserve their rich culture. Not only do guests enjoy staying in an architectural masterpiece and watching unparalleled Pacific sunsets, but they also know that their presence directly contributes to the survival and flourishing of ancient cultures.
