According to preliminary information, Mobina Homsian, a student of architecture at the Faculty of Art and Architecture of Yazd University, had an accident and suffered a concussion on Wednesday, November 7, while practicing the lesson “Removal from Historical Monuments” in one of the traditional houses located on Basij Blvd.
The teacher and a team of five students were present in a historical house in the neighborhood of Pahnikaran. According to the claim, the operation of determining the meter and technical measures, due to the necessity of using a laser, should have been done in the hours leading to darkness. The said team was working on the roof of a historic house when one of the students was thrown down from the skylight of the house while crossing the roof due to the darkness, and unfortunately, following this incident, his brain death was confirmed by the medical team.
As soon as the incident was known, the case was filed in the investigation branch of the Yazd Prosecutor’s Office, and with the presence of the investigator, the crime scene investigation team, law enforcement agents, as well as the professor and the students present at the scene, necessary measures were taken to reconstruct the scene. Also, due to the fact that there is currently no evidence that the accident was intentional, but there is a possibility of negligence on the part of natural and legal persons, an expert panel consisting of several experts in the relevant fields has been formed to investigate possible violations and the extent of the negligence of the individuals has been determined.
The Yazd Prosecutor’s Office emphasizes that the investigation of this case will continue with priority and thoroughness, and the results of the investigations will be announced as soon as possible.
