A black and white picture shows the second trip of Naser al-Din Shah Qajar to Europe in 1295 AH (1878 AD).
In order to reach Europe, Naseruddin Shah goes from Karaj to Qazvin and passing through Aras to the Caucasus region, and after passing through the cities of Nakhchivan, Yerevan and Tbilisi, he travels by train to Moscow and St. Petersburg. Then he will go to Warsaw by train and from there he will reach Germany and Berlin. During these trips to Europe, he became fascinated by modernity.
In this picture, Naser al-Din Shah is seen with Mirza Ali Asghar Khan Atabek (Amin al-Sultan) and Malijak, who was one of the well-known figures in the Shah’s court. Amin al-Sultan was the chancellor of Iran during the time of 3 Qajar kings namely Naser al-Din Shah, Muzaffar al-Din Shah and Mohammad Ali Shah.
