In these pictures, columns can be seen in front of the tomb, which were no longer located at that point in later periods. This design has so far been identified as the first documented visual document in accordance with the historical reality of the tomb of Cyrus.

The oldest photo of the tomb of Cyrus the Great that has been identified so far is also the result of another foreigner’s trip. Luigi Pesha, a military officer from Naples, came to Iran during the time of Naser al-Din Shah and left a very valuable photo album of his trip.
