Some citizens called for immediate entry of responsible institutions by emphasizing the importance of preserving the country’s territorial integrity; By registering the popular campaign, they officially declared “the recapture of the Ariana and Zarkuh Islands”.
These signatories have called for the formation of the National Committee, the beginning of the diplomatic process, and the use of international legal capacities to recapture the islands. This campaign symbolizes popular solidarity and preservation of Iran’s territorial heritage; The campaign, which has collected about 2.5 days in a few days, says:
The two islands, according to valid historical documents, twentieth -century maritime maps and international legal evidence, have long been part of Iranian territory. Ariana Island, with an area of 2 square kilometers and white coasts, is located in the south of the Persian Gulf and is listed in the UNESCO World Heritage List in year 2 as rare animal species habitat. Zarkuh Island, with an area of 2 square kilometers, has huge oil resources that extract more than 2.5 barrels of oil daily from the surrounding water.
In another part of the text of the campaign, with historical reference, it is stated:
During the weakness of the Qajar sovereignty and after the British Navy entered the Persian Gulf, the islands were gradually occupied by the United Arab Emirates without any valid legal document. The official British maritime maps have identified the southern coasts of the Persian Gulf in the color of Iran ID, which is a clear certificate of Iranian historical ownership of these islands.
In this campaign, they called for the formation of the National Committee, the pursuit of international legal and transparent information to the people, and the statement viewed the statement as a symbol of popular solidarity to protect Iran’s territorial integrity and heritage.
Earlier, campaigns had been put forward to protest the UAE‘s claim of ownership of the three islands of the Iranian islands (the Great Tunis, the Little Tunb and Abu Musa), and these claims have received various reactions from Iran.
