The Audubon Bird Photography Awards in the year 8, again celebrated the stunning splendor and variety of birds, while also emphasizing the vital role of photography in environmental protection. This year’s competition was of particular importance; For the first time it expanded beyond the United States and Canada, and Chile and Colombia, known as the amazing diversity of their birds. These areas are the habitat of numerous immigrant species and play a key role in Adoban’s mission to protect habitats and strengthen climatic resilience in the American continent.
This year’s prominent innovations include the introduction of two new parts of “Bureaucratic Birds” and “Conservation”. This change indicates the increasing attention to the role of birds in linking continental ecosystems and the power of images in inspiration to protect nature. Selected images are not only artistic, but are also reminiscent of the fragility of the ecosystems on which birds depend on.
This year’s winning photos depicted extraordinary moments; From the delicacy of the butterfly of a fly chicken in the middle of the flight to the dramatic intensity of winged hunters in the movement and intimacy of parent birds while taking care of their chickens. Each image is both an artistic work and a testament to patience, accuracy and deep respect for their subjects.
The distinctive feature of these images is their ability to cross the borders, and this sense of continuity is a reflection of Adoban’s mission and reminding that the preservation of birds is the common responsibility of all human beings. Among the names of this year’s competition is the name “Parham Pour Ahmad” Iranian teenage artist. (121clicks) (Audubon)
