In the Alora area in Spain, two eagle pins from the Vishgut era have been discovered, which researchers see as a symbol of the special status of the powerful women of that era.
These pins are made of gold-plated bronze and are decorated with red and blue-green glass and white stones. The eagle’s eyes are made of blue stones.
On the back of the pins there is still a spring mechanism and lock. Each of the pins is about 1.5 cm high. These pieces are likely to be used to tighten the clothes on the shoulders.
The period of construction of these pins was attributed to years 1 to 2, when the Vishguts’ territory was based in the Iberian Peninsula. The eagle was considered a symbol of superior power in the art and culture of the Vishguts and is often seen in the artworks of that period.
Despite the importance of this discovery, due to the lack of accurate excavations in the Alora Cemetery over the past century, it cannot be said with certainty who the real owner of these pins was; It may even belong to a queen whose name is not mentioned in historical evidence.
