According to the engraving note, the designer is known as Stoothard Del and the engraving is known as Birrell Sculp. In the eighteenth -century artistic tradition, the name of the artist and engraving on the work was appreciated as their share in representing historical landscapes.
This print was part of a series of documentary images of historical sites and landscapes in the world, and is nowadays recognized as one of the oldest throne image representations in European sources.
It is worth noting that the details of the image and the historical information on Persepolis’ status show that this image is a serious distance from reality, yet one of the oldest images remains of Persepolis.
