Sayed Abbas Salehi, Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance in the courtyard of the Cabinet, responded to a question about the latest status of Homayoun Shajarian Concert:
We are trying to do what they are looking for, which seemed to be a good thing to happen in the social space.
He expressed hope for Homayoun Shajarian’s concert:
Mr. Shajarian, of course, had a trip to Dubai and then another trip for personal affairs, and we hope to make a good conversation after his return from the trip and provide the necessary arrangements for such a concert.
Homayoun Shajarian’s free concert, which was scheduled to take place in Tehran’s Azadi Square on September 5, was canceled due to management problems and inability to manage millions. Shajarian said in a statement that the supplies needed to hold the concert were not allowed to enter the site and seemed to be unable to manage such a population.
Following the cancellation of the street concert, some officials proposed to hold concerts elsewhere, such as Azadi Stadium.
