This historical image depicts Tehran’s Baharestan Square in the past decades; Where the magnificent building of the Sepahsalar Mosque, one of the prominent examples of Qajar architecture, is next to the National Assembly. The Sepahsalar Mosque, later renamed the Motahari Mosque, is one of the most prominent religious and historical monuments in the capital with the turquoise dome and four high minarets.
The building was built in the late nineteenth century by the order of Sepahsalar Qajar and has witnessed important political and social events in Iran for more than a century.
In this historic photo, probably about the 1980s, the arrow of the orange arrow is also seen. The Sepahsalar Mosque is now unable to visit the parliament.
