The Qaboos dome was released from the scaffolding fence after years

The scaffolds that had been fenced in the fence since December, are eventually gathering one. The start of the dismantling operation is the promise of the days when tourists and the people of Gonbadkavus can once again watch the “self” immediately.

Golestan’s Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts said:

Nearly five years after the scaffold installed, their dismantling operations have been launched by the selected contractor.

Recalling why these scaffolds are installed, he added:

These scaffolds were installed on the dome surface in December with the aim of clearing and removing weeds. The weeds that had grown unprecedented in Golestan province following the widespread flooding in Golestan province and increased the risk of damage to the brick structure of the monument.

Emergency restoration included the consolidation of the rack sector and the production of exemplary bricks in accordance with World Heritage Standards, which was completed with a validity of over 2 billion riyals.

As the scaffolding begins, the public visit to the Qaboos dome will be stopped by the end of this stage and the complex ticket will be temporarily closed.
