Following the popular reports of unauthorized excavation in one of the historic hills in the agricultural lands of the city of Kordkoy, intelligence and field measures were launched by the Operational Team in the West of the Province.
The commander of the Golestan Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Department said:
Subsequently, with extensive information observation, accurate monitoring of the area, and a judicial observation, a team of trustee forces of the Conservation Unit was dispatched to the site in collaboration with the police station and the Kordkoy County Relief Patrol.

During the operation, five of the unauthorized diggers who were drilling at a depth of five meters and a width of one meter and 2 cm were arrested along with unauthorized drilling equipment.

Following the legal meeting, the defendants were handed over to the Kordkoy County police officers during the judicial process.

The unit is constantly monitoring and controlling historical and cultural areas with close cooperation with the province’s law enforcement, security and judicial institutions, and citizens can notify the system if they see any suspicious cases related to crimes against cultural heritage.
