Hojjat Hamidi, an Iranian firefighter, hunts the pure moments of everyday life with his cellphone and created intimate and influential images. Born in Ardabil, he began photography with mobile only four years ago; But soon, this art became a tool for narrative of life.
Alongside his job, Hamidi goes to the corners of cities and villages with a mobile camera, capturing people, animals and nature, full of emotion. His photos narrate the simple beauties that are often ignored in the bustle of life; From the lazy smiles to the contemplative silence and the moments between humans and nature, they live in his camera frame.
For Hamidi, photography is beyond image recording; She says:
Photography took me to places that I never imagined. In the moments of the happiness and sadness of the people, I shared and these experiences made me a better person.
Hamidi’s works prove that there is no need for expensive equipment to create art; Rather, the photographer’s look and feelings in the image determine the value of a photo. Despite the use of a mobile phone, he has been able to win various awards and to raise international admiration.
With his pictures, Hamidi shows the stories of the life of Iranian villages to the world and proves that beauty lies in simple moments. His artistic journey inspires many photographers who can portray the world around them with any tool.
