By converting metal waste into amazing sculptures, the creative artist links art with environmental stability.
In the world where more waste is produced, Brian Mock, the creative artist from Oregon, has taken a different approach. He has rescued two to three tons of discarded metal from landfills so far and has served not only to art but also to environmental stability by turning them into complex sculptures.
In his work, Brian uses forks, screws, automotive parts and a variety of metal waste. His creative process begins with a initial design; But in the end, there are a set of components that determine the path of the work. His main technique is the “MIG” welding; But to complete the works, it also uses methods such as cutting and rocking metals.
One of Brian’s main motives to continue this path is the constant challenge of progress. He says about his interest in this style:
My statues are a way to express my emotions. I had a problem with verbal communication from childhood; But now, my works are talking about me. When I look at my work in previous years, I realize change. This makes me think about how much better I can in the next one or five years. I am always looking for new things!
With its art, Brian Mack shows that beauty can emerge from the most unexpected places, and even metal lesions can become lasting masterpieces.
