Cutting down an old tree on Sepeh Qazvin Street without informing is a cultural heritage.
In recent days, an old tree in the historic Sepeh Qazvin street was cut down by the municipality of this city, and many people said that the cut tree was from the Qajar period.
Alireza Khazaeli, Director General of Qazvin Cultural Heritage, told IRNA:
The old tree on Sepeh Qazvin Street was cut down without prior notice to the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage. A report from the Parks and Green Space Organization of Qazvin Municipality reached us today regarding the drying up and the possibility of the old tree falling over. According to the regulations of the Municipal Organization, the dry trees will be cut and collected or we will plant a young tree for the old tree.
He added:
The cutting of an old tree on Sepeh Qazvin street was done without informing the cultural heritage organization, which was protested by a group of activists in this field, which is respected as such. Normally, cultural heritage experts turn trees that are several years old and historic into one of the symbols of urban furniture and maintain it, but this organization came to know about the story after the tree was cut down.
