As reports show, Apple’s iPhone 15 Type-C charging cable is even slower than mid-range Android phones on the market!
As you probably know, the European Union has forced Apple to remove the exclusive Lightning charging port from its iPhones and replace it with the universal USB Type-C port. Thanks to these new rules, Apple’s iPhone 15 family phones will all be equipped with a Type C port. But there are concerns about how to use this charging port on Apple iPhones.

Will the iPhone 15 solve the biggest problem of charging Apple iPhones?
One of the mobile researchers named Majin Bu believes that the iPhone 15 Type-C charging cable lacks Apple’s exclusive MFi certification. This means that cables and miscellaneous accessories are compatible with your phone without any problems. Of course, not all the news of this researcher is good. He claimed that the regular and Plus versions of the Apple iPhone 15 use a Type C port with the older USB 2.0 standard. This means that the maximum data transfer speed with it is 480 Mbps; The speed that the Lightning port offers is the same.
The charging speed of Apple’s next iPhone cable is not impressive and with a maximum power of 20 watts, it is even slower than mid-range Android phones. Apple will provide a high-quality USB-C to USB-C cable with a length of 1.6 meters along with the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus models. Its only positive point compared to current lightning cables is its 60 cm longer length.
This cable supports Power Delivery 3 technology (up to 20 watts). Therefore, users can use the iPhone 15 Type-C charging cable to charge other Apple devices such as iPads and even MacBooks (and of course all electronic devices that support Power Delivery technology).
The charging speed of Type C cable for iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max is higher!
But the case is different with the cable that comes with the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models. They support the more modern technology USB 3.2 Gen 2X2 (speed 20 Gbps) or Thunderbolt 3 (speed 40 Gbps). In addition to higher data transfer speeds, the two also support faster charging speeds of 35W. Besides, according to the rumors, they will be equipped with bigger batteries than their previous generation.
